Kevin P. McGovern is senior counsel to the firm. He has been practicing public sector labor law for over 30 years. From 2006 to 2024, Mr. McGovern was a partner in the firm of Mets Schiro & McGovern, where he represented a broad array of public sector labor unions, including College faculty and staff, office and professional employees, blue collar workers, law enforcement officers and firefighters. Prior to his return to private practice, Mr. McGovern was the Director of the Governor’s Office of Employee Relations under Governors McGreevey, Codey and Corzine, and also worked for two years on behalf of management. He regularly appears before the Public Employment Relations Commission and the Office of Administrative Law, and has argued at every level of State courts, including the State Supreme Court. He is a frequent guest speaker at labor conferences and legal education seminars. Mr. McGovern is a past member of the Governor’s Council on the Prevention of Developmental Disabilities and served his community for over a decade as an elected school board member.
